Eero Saarinen (1910 - 1961)Eero Saarinen (* 20. August 1910 in Kirkkonummi, Finnland; † September 1st, 1961 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA) was one of the most known architects and designer of the 20th century. The Finnish sculptor and architect was a representative of the organic building method. It all began with the style of the rationalism and its geometrical forms. This is for example shown in the cubic expression language at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Michigan. Only at a later date Eero Saarinen realized an organic building method with dynamically arranged forms. Among his most famous buildings shall be named the TWA Terminal building at the JFK International Airport, New York. Saarinens relevance as an architect lays in the high-rise architecture.
